What you’re looking at
- The head. Fully worked, in Boxfan’s teardrop shape. Rainbow Grape runs through the whole head, red, orange, yellow, green and blue lines folding through deep purple, laid down line by line in the studio.
- The magnifiers. Three of them, large and clear, set across the front. Look through one and the pattern underneath swells up to meet you.
- The carb. Extended, and part of the design. The point of the teardrop on the left side is the carb, so it’s easy to find and easy to use.
- The decal. The blue Helix Signature Series decal, fired on.

Built by the man who invented the Helix
Boxfan has been at the torch for nearly 30 years. He was one of the original 24 Snodgrass apprentices. He founded The Flow, a journal for glassblowers, in 2002. And he invented the Helix and its patented air-cooled technology.

Rinse with warm water; isopropyl for a deeper clean; brush the inlet to keep the airflow clear. Go gentle on the magnifiers and worked detail.
